Treat an outdoor entrance as a separate project
If the obstacle is outside, ask for equipment specifically approved for that environment. Discuss drainage, weather exposure, charging and a usable stopping position. A product photograph on an indoor staircase is not evidence of outdoor suitability.
Plan the whole access route
Explain where you arrive from and where you need to go after leaving the chair. Discuss doors, drainage, the available walking route and a practical charging position. If transferring to a chair is not suitable, ask about alternatives rather than assuming a seat lift solves every access need.
Ask about care in different weather
Request the Acorn’s operating conditions, storage or cover instructions and maintenance guidance. Ask who will service the outdoor equipment at your address and what the warranty excludes. Local climate alone does not tell you which model or rail is appropriate.
Keep equipment categories clear
A seated stairlift is not a wheelchair platform lift. The outdoor photograph shows a real Acorn chair stairlift on exterior steps. It illustrates the product category, not a Leeds installation or a guarantee that the pictured configuration suits your home.
